About us.

At Montgomery Family Dental we tailor our dental services to your individual needs. No two patients are the same, so neither is their treatment. From preventive care to implant surgery to full mouth rehabilitation, we deliver skilled and comprehensive dental care for you and your family through efficient visits and a relaxing environment. And if you or a loved one are in dental pain, same-day emergency visits are available to quickly resolve the problem.

Additionally, we respect and understand that many patients experience dental anxiety, which is why we also offer nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation services to alleviate your concerns during procedures. For these reasons, we know that you have come to the right place for your dental care.

Meet the Doctors

Dr. Seth Huiras

Dr. Seth Huiras grew up near Random Lake, WI, a small farming community near Sheboygan, WI. He then moved to Northfield, MN where he attended St. Olaf College. He graduated with a degree in chemistry and a concentration in statistics. Dr. Huiras developed his dental skills at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, before then, he was a dental technician at Certified Dental Ceramics in Rosemount, MN.

While at dental school, Dr. Huiras completed externships at the Hibbing Community Dental Clinic, the Willmar Regional Dental Clinic, and the Native American Community Clinic of Minneapolis. Dr. Huiras was a member of the American Student Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and served as the President of the Hispanic Student Dental Association his senior year. While in dental school, Dr. Huiras was selected for the Pediatric Dental Honors course, which also taught him lifelong skills in kids dentistry.

After graduating from dental school with a Distinguished Service Award, Dr. Huiras began practicing dentistry in a family practice located in southeastern Wisconsin. During his time spent in general practice, Dr. Huiras developed a passion for working in pediatrics, endodontics, prosthodontics, dental implants, and restorative dentistry. Dr. Huiras was a part of the Summit Study Club in Milwaukee, WI, where he learned how to achieve positive, aesthetic results restoring implants. He is now a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, Zimmer Biomet Implant Continuing Education, the Smile Source, and the Spear Institute for Continuing Education. Dr. Huiras currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the MDA representing the Southern District Dental Society. Most recently, Dr. Huiras and Dr. Erickson have been studying together on a monthly basis in their Spear study club with approximately 10 other dentists and specialists in Northfield, MN. Additionally, they have also started working with the Smile Source CEO Group for dental small business owners.

Dr. Huiras enjoys the Owatonna, Montgomery and Albert Lea communities and their surrounding areas. He welcomes new patients of all ages and enjoys working with the Straight River Family Dental, Montgomery Family Dental and Fountain Lake Family Dental teams. He practices general dentistry including basic fillings and bonding, placement of implants, root canal treatments, crown/veneer and bridge work, treatments for temporomandibular joint disorders, and pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Kurt Erickson

Dr. Kurt Erickson grew up in Fairmont, Minnesota and is a graduate from Fairmont High School. He completed his undergraduate education at Bethel University in St.Paul, Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2010. To earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, Dr. Erickson attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Upon graduating dental school, Dr. Erickson furthered his professional training and completed a year long AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program at the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium in Sitka, Alaska. During this time, he received advanced training from specialists in pediatric dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics while having the opportunity to serve rural areas of Alaska, often traveling by bush plane.

Dr. Erickson has since been serving the community of Fairmont in private practice since 2015 and joined Montgomery Family Dental in 2021. Dr. Erickson is a current member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Southern District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Erickson welcomes new patients of all ages and is excited to be serving the Montgomery community and surrounding areas.
